Tolt/McDonald Park

We had tons of fun camping this past weekend. We decided to stay close this year and camped at Tolt/McDonald Park, which is only about an hour from our house. We also invited some friends to camp with us. We went up on Thursday (except Greg) found our perfect tent spot and got things all arranged. The day was hot and the two campsites we had didn't provide any shade. Greg showed up to have dinner with us on Thursday. He didn't stay the night because he had to work on Friday but he came up after work and stayed the night with us on Friday. We had such a good time. I'm glad we went with the friends we did and that we stayed two nights. It was nice to feel like getting settled in was going to be worth it. We had perfect weather and no rain. We made yummy dutch oven meals and roasted s'mores. Overall it was a great trip.

Abby loved sleeping in the tent with her own sleeping bag. We all slept pretty well (with a little help from sleep aid).

We went for a walk around the park on Friday and found some great black berry spots. I was surprised by how many berries Abby ate. She thought it was the coolest thing.

We played in the river a couple of times. There was a pretty decent beach (if not a little rocky) we went to one of the times. Abby sat and played happily with her bucket and shovel for nearly two hours. She was completely sandy afterward. And got stripped down at the spigot after each time in the river.

We are so happy that we were able to have a good camping trip this year. And thanks to my parents for letting us borrow so much of there camping gear. It made the trip that much more enjoyable.

Sounds like great fun. I see books on Abby's sleeping bag. Is she a flashlight reader even in the tent? I'm glad you had good weather and a good time.
